My Approach
Gentle, evidence-informed support tailored to you.
No two people - or relationships - are the same. That’s why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. Instead, I draw from a range of therapeutic frameworks and developmental theories to meet you where you are and support where you’d like to go.
These approaches aren’t rigid techniques. They’re flexible, compassionate tools that help us make sense of your experiences, explore new perspectives and find practical steps toward healing, clarity and growth.
At the heart of my work is a person-centred philosophy: the belief that people thrive when they feel safe, heard and accepted. From this foundation, we can begin to gently untangle what’s no longer serving you - and build something more connected, resilient and aligned.
Therapeutic Foundations
Inspired by Carl Rogers, this approach is the cornerstone of my practice. It’s built on empathy, authenticity and unconditional positive regard -creating a space where you feel safe to explore, reflect and grow at your own pace.
Person-Centred Therapy
This future-oriented approach highlights your strengths and resources. We focus on what’s already working and how to build on it - one small, achievable step at a time.
Solution-Focused Therapy
ACT supports you in accepting difficult emotions while taking meaningful action guided by your values. It’s especially helpful for building emotional resilience and reconnecting with what truly matters.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
As part of my Advanced Study Major in Mindfulness-Based Therapies, I integrate mindfulness principles into many aspects of my work. Mindfulness helps clients become more present, reduce emotional reactivity and develop a deeper awareness of their thoughts and feelings.
Mindfulness-Based Therapies
CBT helps us understand how thoughts, feelings and behaviours interact. By identifying unhelpful patterns and learning to shift them, you can build healthier ways of coping with anxiety, stress, depression and relationship challenges.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
When life presents big choices, this approach helps you explore your options, clarify your values and move forward with confidence and clarity.
Supportive Decision Making
Relationship & Couples Counselling:
A Specialised Focus
I’m especially passionate about supporting couples to strengthen connection, navigate conflict and build healthier patterns. My relationship work is informed by:
-
Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1 Training): A research-based approach focused on emotional connection, communication, and conflict management.
-
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): An attachment-based model that helps couples identify negative interaction cycles and create new patterns of emotional bonding.
-
Connection, Change & Trust: Presence-Oriented Relationship Therapy: A relational framework that supports couples in building trust and navigating change with presence and compassion.
-
Advanced Study Majors from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors in:
— Relationship Counselling and Conflict Resolution (RC)

These trainings allow me to tailor sessions to your unique relationship needs - whether you’re seeking premarital counselling, working through recurring conflict or coping with separation.
A Space to Slow Down and Reconnect
I currently offer online counselling sessions across Australia, including the Gold Coast and wider Queensland region. Online therapy provides flexibility, privacy and accessibility - ideal for individuals and couples balancing busy lives or living in remote areas.
I'm in the process of finding a beautiful space on the Gold Coast to offer in-person sessions soon. If you are interested, please reach out - I may be able to accommodate something in the meantime or share more details with you.
You don’t need to have all the answers - just a willingness to begin. Whether you’re navigating relationships, reducing anxiety or simply seeking greater emotional balance, counselling offers a space to reflect, heal and reconnect with what matters most.
