Using Webmail to free up space in your hosting account.

Most of the time, just downloading your mail will solve space issues. But in some cases, offices or individuals may have their computers set up to leave a copy of the message on the server.

If this is the case, you will have to log in through webmail to manually delete mail that may be causing your hosting account to come close to its disk quota.

Please Note: This will not work if you are over quota. If you have used 100% of your disk space, please submit a support ticket and we will help you clear your account.

Deleting Mail through Webmail

Try this.

1. Go to http://www.yourdomain.com.au/webmail

2.Log in using youraccountname@yourdomain.com.au as the username and the password set up for this account. If you remember the password, you can then bookmark the webmail link and access it easily.

3. Click the Horde logo to use the Horde Mail Program.

4. Click Log in on the next Language screen.

5. You will then see a left-hand menu with a link to Mail. Click this, then click Inbox. You will then see the mail messages listed in the main window. You can then use the program as you would a normal mail program, reading, forwarding, creating new, etc.

6. Find the big email files and tick the checkbox next to message. Hit Delete at the top of the mail window.

7. After the message has been deleted, it will be displayed with a line through it, you will still need to get rid of it entirely by clicking "Purge Deleted" from the top right of the window. Just deleting the message is similar to putting the message in the Trash in your Mail Client on your computer. Purging Deleted mail is like emptying the Trash.

8. Delete as many messages as you need to free up space on your server.
